About B-SIDES

Founded by Yousuf Ahmed

B-SIDES makes baked crunch puffs from corn, oats and peas, seasoned with plant-based flavors like cheddar, ranch and jalapeño-lime. The puffs use upcycled corn left from milling grits and oats left from making oat milk, with 5g of plant protein per serving. The name comes from the songs that miss the album but that superfans often love most. Yousuf Ahmed founded the company in Brooklyn, New York, in 2024.

Good to know

Answered by B-SIDES.

  • What does upcycled mean for B-SIDES?

The puffs use ingredients that would otherwise go to waste: corn from milling grits and oats from making oat milk, sourced through verifiable supply chains.

  • Where does the name come from?

B-sides are songs left off the final album that fans often love most. The brand applies that idea to overlooked ingredients like leftover oats.

  • Are the puffs vegan?

Yes, all B-SIDES Crunch Puffs are vegan.

  • What about allergens?

The puffs are made with ingredients free of the top 9 allergens, though they are produced in facilities that handle them. Check each package label for current details.

  • How much protein is in a serving?

Each serving has 5g of complete plant-based protein.

  • How long do the puffs stay fresh?

Unopened bags keep for one year. Once opened, eat them within 3 to 5 days.

  • Are the bags compostable?

Not yet. Compostable bags couldn't keep the puffs fresh, so the brand works with repurpose.global to offset its footprint while it looks for better packaging.
