About Behave

Founded by Mayssa, Founder & CEO

Behave makes low-sugar gummy candy, including sweet and sour gummy stars, sour bears and extra-sour citrus skulls. The gummies are sweetened with monk fruit, allulose, chicory root fiber and tapioca fiber, with no sugar alcohols or artificial sweeteners. Founder Mayssa grew up in a no-sweets household with a diabetic father, and she developed the recipes with chef Elizabeth Falkner and a PhD confectionery scientist.

Good to know

Answered by Behave.

  • How are the gummies sweetened?

With monk fruit, allulose, chicory root fiber and soluble tapioca fiber. No sugar alcohols or artificial sweeteners are used.

  • What is allulose?

A natural sweetener found in foods like figs, raisins and jackfruit that tastes like regular sugar.

  • Are the gummies vegan?

Not yet. They use kosher gelatin, though vegan options are in development.

  • Are they dairy-free and gluten-free?

Yes, the gummies contain no dairy and are made to be gluten-free.

  • Are the gummies nut-free?

They are made in a peanut-free facility that also processes almonds and coconut. The Watermelon Mango Lychee bears contain lychee, listed as a tree nut.

  • What flavors are used?

Only natural flavors drawn from fruits, plants and spices, with nothing artificial.

  • How should I store them?

At room temperature, roughly 55F to 75F. Warmer storage can make them melt, stick or lose shape.

  • What is the shelf life?

    Two years.
