About Coconut Cult

Coconut Cult makes a tangy, mousse-like fermented coconut yogurt, sold in glass jars and made without gums or fillers. The Original flavor is just coconut cream, coconut meat, coconut water and a custom blend of 16 culture species, and other flavors include chocolate, strawberry, passion fruit and rotating limited editions. Every batch is fermented in-house by the team in Ogden, Utah, rather than at a co-packer.

Good to know

Answered by Coconut Cult.

  • What is Coconut Cult?

A refrigerated fermented coconut yogurt made with organic coconut cream, coconut meat, water and a custom culture blend, with no gums or fillers.

  • Where is it made?

In the brand's own production facility in Ogden, Utah, where the team handles fermentation, filling and packaging in-house.

  • Which cultures are in it?

    A blend of 16 species, including L. acidophilus, L. plantarum, L. rhamnosus, S. thermophilus, B. longum and B. bifidum.

  • How much sugar does it have?

Original has zero grams of added sugar. Other flavors vary depending on fruit, coconut nectar and other ingredients, so check each flavor's Nutrition Facts panel.

  • Where do the coconuts come from?

Thailand, through a Fair Trade sourcing program. Monkey labor is not permitted in harvesting.

  • What does it taste like?

Tangy and naturally fizzy, a bit like kombucha. Original is the tangiest; flavors with fruit or coconut nectar are sweeter.

  • Why does the texture vary from jar to jar?

Because it is fermented and made without gums or preservatives, jars can be fluffy on top, thinner below, or slightly separated. That is normal.

  • How long does an opened jar last?

Aim to finish it within 2 to 3 weeks. Keep it refrigerated, use a clean spoon and seal it tightly.
