About Forager Project

Founded by Stephen Williamson, Co-founder

Forager Project is a family-owned organic creamery making dairy-free yogurts, Greek-style yogurt, kefir-style drinks, kids yogurt pouches, milks, coffee creamers and sour cream, built mostly on organic cashews and coconuts. The company runs its own creamery rather than using co-packers. It was co-founded by Stephen Williamson and John-Charles Hanley and is based in San Francisco.

Good to know

Answered by Forager Project.

  • Why does the oatmilk list added sugar when sugar isn't an ingredient?

Enzymes break oats down into an oat base, which creates simple sugars. Those sugars must be labelled as added sugars.

  • Where does the protein in the Greek Style Yogurt come from?

From organic rice protein and organic cashews, chosen for a thick texture and clean taste.

  • Where do the cashews come from?

Organic cashews from a small group of farmers in Vietnam and the Ivory Coast, grown without irrigated water. They are steamed, not cooked.

  • Are the products pasteurized?

Yes, perishable products are UHT pasteurized. Live cultures are added afterwards.

  • Do the products contain carrageenan or corn?

No carrageenan. Some products contain corn starch, so check the label.

  • How long do products last once opened?

Usually 5 to 7 days in the fridge, regardless of the expiration date.

  • Can I freeze the products?

They aren't made for freezing; it changes the texture and taste.

  • Is the packaging recyclable and BPA free?

All packaging is BPA free and most is recyclable. Bottles use 98% recycled plastic; it is not compostable.
