About Grillo's Pickles

Grillo's Pickles makes fresh, cold-pickled pickles from garden-fresh ingredients with nothing artificial, sold from the refrigerated section for maximum crunch. The range covers Classic Dill, Hot and Blazing Hot pickles, plus Pickle de Gallo, a chopped pickle salsa in mild, medium and hot. The brand began in 2008 as a wooden pickle cart in downtown Boston and is now sold nationwide.

Answered by Grillo's Pickles.

  • How are Grillo's Pickles made?

They use a fresh pickling process with garden-fresh ingredients and no added chemicals or preservatives. The pickles are made, shipped and sold cold.

  • Do the pickles need to be refrigerated?

Yes. Because they are fresh and made without preservatives, they must stay refrigerated to keep their quality.

  • Are Grillo's Pickles fermented?

No. Vinegar is the main pickling agent, so they contain no active cultures and are not fermented.

  • Are they gluten-free?

The products are tested to meet FDA gluten-free standards. Some are made in facilities that also process wheat, with procedures in place to prevent cross contact.

  • Are they vegan?

Yes. The pickles suit vegetarian and vegan diets, and they are also kosher. Full ingredients are listed on the container.

  • How long do the pickles last?

Enjoy them by the best-by date printed on the edge of the lid, whether or not the container has been opened.

  • How spicy are the hot pickles?

There are two levels: Hot offers a moderate kick, while Blazing Hot is for those who want as much heat as possible.

  • What flavors of Pickle de Gallo are there?

Mild, Medium (a thick and chunky cut) and Hot. It works as a dip or topping for chips, sandwiches, tacos, burgers and more.
