About Harmless Harvest

Harmless Harvest makes organic coconut water from young Nam Hom coconuts grown in Thailand, along with sparkling and pulp versions, coconut smoothies and dairy-free coconut yogurt. The original coconut water is a single ingredient with no added sugar, and it can turn pink naturally over time. Its coconuts are Regenerative Organic Certified at the Bronze level, and the yogurts and smoothies use coconut meat from the same coconuts as the water. The company is headquartered in Oakland, California, with much of its team and operation based in Thailand.

Good to know

Answered by Harmless Harvest.

  • Why is the coconut water pink?

It is clear when bottled but can turn pink over time as natural antioxidants react to things like light. The brand skips additives such as ascorbic acid that would hide this.

  • Where do the coconuts come from?

All of them come from Thailand. The organic coconut water uses young Nam Hom coconuts from the Samut Sakhon region.

  • How is the coconut water processed?

The organic coconut water is never thermally pasteurized; it goes through a multi-step micro-filtration process instead. The shelf-stable version is heat-processed so it can be stored at room temperature.

  • Are the products organic?

Yes, they are certified to USDA National Organic Program standards. In 2023 the coconuts also became Regenerative Organic Certified at the Bronze level.

  • Are the products vegan?

They contain no animal-derived ingredients and are not processed with animal byproducts, though they are not formally certified vegan.

  • Is there added sugar in the coconut water?

No. It is 100% coconut water, and its sugar comes naturally from the coconuts.
