About Issei

Founded by Mika Shino

Issei makes soft, chewy gummy candies from rice and tapioca, taking their cue from traditional Japanese mochi. The texture sits somewhere between a gummy bear and a marshmallow, with subtle fruit flavors like yuzu, mango and sour cherry, colors from natural sources, real cane sugar and no gelatin. Founder Mika Shino developed the recipe at home for her children, drawing on her Japanese heritage, and the gummies are made in the USA.
