About KEFIRKULT

KEFIRKULT is a Toronto company making coconut kefir yogurt from just coconut milk and kefir cultures, with no thickeners, emulsifiers or added sugar. The team grows its own proprietary kefir cultures and ferments everything in its own dedicated facility in Mississauga, Ontario. The founders come from microbiology, biochemistry and pharmaceutical manufacturing backgrounds. The kefir comes in original, mango and guava.

Good to know

Answered by KEFIRKULT.

  • What is kefir?

A fermented food similar to yogurt, made with kefir cultures (clumps of bacteria and yeast). KEFIRKULT's version is made with coconut milk.

  • What does it taste like?

Tangy and a little more sour than yogurt, with a light natural fizz and a clean coconut flavour.

  • What are the ingredients?

The coconut kefir contains only coconut milk and kefir cultures.

  • Is it vegan, dairy-free and nut-free?

Yes. All products are vegan, and both the products and the facility are dairy-free and nut-free (coconut aside).

  • Is it organic or kosher?

Not yet certified organic, though the brand is working on it. The products are not certified kosher.

  • How is it made?

Coconut milk is fermented with kefir cultures the brand has grown since 2017, then the grains are strained out and the kefir is bottled.

  • Where is it made?

At the brand's own production facility in Mississauga, Ontario.

  • How long does it keep?

About 200 days refrigerated and unopened. Once opened, eat within two weeks. Texture may change or separate over time, which is normal.
