About Phil's Finest

Phil's Finest makes sausages and ground beef that pair humanely raised meat with vegetables and bold spices, such as kale chimichurri chicken sausage and Korean BBQ beef with beets. The beef is grass-fed and grass-finished, and two of the ground beef flavors were developed with award-winning chefs. The brand, formerly called Misfit Foods, began in Phil's college kitchen and later appeared on Shark Tank.

Good to know

Answered by Phil's Finest.

  • What is in Phil's Finest products?

The sausages and ground mixes combine equal parts humanely raised meat with vegetables and spices.

  • Where are the products made?

The chicken sausages are made in Rochester, NY with a fifth-generation sausage maker. The grass-fed ground beef mixes are made in Vermont.

  • Where does the meat come from?

Chicken comes from Global Animal Partnership rated farms such as Mary's Chicken, raised with no antibiotics and fed a vegetarian diet. The grass-fed, grass-finished beef comes from a network of about 300 small Vermont farms.

  • Are the products gluten-free?

All products except the Korean BBQ Ground Beef use gluten-free ingredients, but they are not made in certified gluten-free facilities.

  • What casing do the sausages use?

None. The sausages are made without a casing, rather than the pork or beef collagen casings many sausages use.
