About PREVAIL Jerky
PREVAIL makes beef and turkey jerky that leaves out the top 8 allergens, with flavors like Original, Umami, Lemongrass, Spicy and Hot Honey Turkey. The beef is grass-fed and grass-finished from family farms in New Zealand, the turkey comes from US family farms, and the marinades and spices are organic. Instead of artificial preservatives, the meat is cured with coconut sugar and sea salt, then smoked over cherry wood. It is a family-owned business that started making its own jerky after struggling to find snacks that suited their food allergies.
Good to know
Answered by PREVAIL Jerky.
Is the jerky gluten-free?
Yes. It is certified gluten-free through the Gluten-Free Manufacturing Program (GFMP), endorsed by the National Celiac Association.
Does it contain soy?
No. The Umami and Lemongrass flavors use organic coconut aminos in place of soy sauce.
Is it free of the top 8 allergens?
Yes, it contains no dairy, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, wheat or soy. It does contain coconut sugar and coconut aminos. The co-packing facility is free of peanut, tree nut (other than coconut), egg, fish, shellfish, dairy and mustard.
Does it need to be refrigerated?
Because there are no artificial preservatives, refrigerate any jerky you don't finish in one sitting.
How is it preserved without preservatives?
Coconut sugar and sea salt help cure the meat, which is then smoked with cherry wood. Keep it refrigerated after opening.
Is it organic?
The marinades and spices are organic. They are combined with grass-fed, grass-finished beef or free-range turkey raised without antibiotics or hormones.
Where does the meat come from?
The beef comes from a co-op of family farms in New Zealand where cattle are pastured year-round. The turkey comes from family farms in the US.
Is it cane sugar free?
Yes. Coconut sugar is used for sweetness instead of cane sugar.
